Data Selection Templates

Hi,

i have another question. Is it possible to transfer Data Selection Templates from one PD server to another PD server?

I dont think its possible to transfer data selection templates across SPAs

Thx for answer, but that is not the answer i want to hear. :(
In some cases it would make work much more eficient.
Maybe someone else has an solution.

Hi,

I know this is something that you would not want.. but here is a reason why you cannot transfer. When you create a dataselection template, puredisk stores it to a postgresql database..

Run this commnd to find out:

/opt/pddb/bin/psql -U pddb ca -c "select * from dataselectiontemplate"

and internally its linked to many other tables.. Even if technically it might be possible (with difficulties), it would not be the suggested way..

Actually, you could run SPAR (Storage Pool Authority Replication), that would replicate dataselections, policies, etc but not backed-up data to a 2nd storagepool you install and select.
