Issues if Media Server for Optimized Dedupe IP changed ?

Hi guys,

Anyone knows whether will there be any issues if i were to changed IP for my secondary dedupe pool media server.

As currently it is located at my primary site for initial data copying, after which it will be moved to DR site, which it will have another IP.

Both Media Servers and Master Servers are running Windows 2008 R2 x64 and NBU 7.0.1.

Currently the setup at my primary site is working fine, everything seems to be deduplicating and transferring from client to Primary Media Server and then duplicate to Secondary Meda Server.

Thanks for any inputs.

Regards.

Redtail,

This is not recommended as the IP address is "burned in" in many places of the MSDP configuration.  If you used all FQDN during the setup you might be in better shape assuming that DNS is updated and all names are resolvable.

I strongly suggest further investigation (read the troubleshooting guide here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC2203&key=15143&actp=LIST) and logging a support ticket prior to making any changes.
