Hi All,

Here is my environment.

1 Master,

3 Media servers ( A, B & C)

Library connected zonned and cotroller path is on Media server A, other 2 media server is configured as SSO for the load.

Currently Media server A hardware is out of warranty. coustmer is not ready to extended the hardware warraty, need to give justification what if media server A goes down, as configured sso with other 2 media server, will able to take load if controller path is down? or do we need to re configure on media server B and make controller path on 2nd media server and can route the backup?

Please advise and Thanks in advance.

Only one media server can be configured as Robot Control Host.

If Media Server A fails, the customer will need to manually reconfigure all devices to make Media Server B or C the Robot Control Host.

For Storage Unit failover, the customer needs to configure Storage Unit Group(s).

As you have zoned all the drives to all the media servers, the Robot control Drive should be connect to all the three media servers. As @Marianne explained you will have to move the control host to either Media server B or C, this may not be that complicated option to change (you can use GUI or command line) but ensure you take extra care and understanding to avoid any complications.
