What is the Windows version on this client?

You have selected Windows 8 as OS.

If this is the case, how did you manage to install NBU 7.5 on this client?
Windows 8 is only supported as from 7.5.0.6 with this installation media:

NB_7.5.0.6.winnt.x64.Client.Win2012.exe provides a full installer for NetBackup 7.5.0.6 Client onWindows 2012 Server and Windows 8 Client
www.symantec.com/docs/TECH204661

Please also show us what you have in Backup Selection for this client.
Ensure that bpbkar and bpfis folders exist under netbackup\logs on this client.
bpbkar log should also help to tell us if snapshots were attempted. Please post as File attachment.
show us all text in Details tab as well.

Hi Nicolai ,

If we exclude this binary path then we are able to recover the sytem state at the time of recovery.

Restore ?

Is this topic not about "Volume resolution error" during backup ?

Can you please elaborate ?

As per the Tech Note

"all binary paths that should be excluded from the system state backup operation"

If we excluded all binary path from system state backup then we are able to recover the full system state if the system get crashed.

Sorry - I do not know. But reading the MS tech note I would say you are in a elevated risk.

  • If you use this method to exclude the service data from the system state backup scope, you have to back up the service data on the shared volume manually.
  • If you assign a drive letter to a shared volume that is excluded from the system state backup scope, you have to manually re-enter all the registry keys again by using a new path because the assigned drive letter does not function any longer.
