Backup Oracle 10 in a non-global zone (Solaris 10)

Hi !

I'm trying to backup a database oracle vith NBU 6.5 i've got an error (code 6 Netbackup) and this Oracle error :

Did you manage to get your problem sorted?

I am busy implementing an RMAN backup on a non-global zone and it is failing with the same error as you have getting (error 6 on Netbackup)

NB: I have used the similar script on a another client which was not a zone and it worked 100%.

Please assist.

I have a setup in a non-global (local) zone, and it works for me. Must be name resolution or a firewall issue for you.

(Oracle 10 G R2), NBU 6.5

There is no firewall between the zones and the Master server.

This is how my set-up is:

Master server is unix 10 running 6.5.3.
The Media Server is unix 10 running 6.5.3. (global-zone) and the non-global zone is the client running unix solaris 10  6.5.3. I am using my global zone as a media server.

There is no firewall between the servers. It runs for 1 minute few seconds and then bombs out with error 6.

NB: the normal flat files work very well.

I am doing the similar configuration on a normal server running the same O/S with no zones and it runs perfectly.

Please assist.
