Backup Policy not running

arthur_castro

Hi,

I just created a new policy and created a schedule (full and incremental). I just wondering why
these policy is not running on the specified schedule. But all the other policies are running without a problem.

When I take a look at the problem log, there's no error or no log for that particular policy. So I am curious
if there is someting wrong with the netbackup or the Server that I am backing up. I do a manual backup
and it is working fine.

I do this in the command line but didn't help.
./nbpemreq -updatepolicies

Any help or suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Arthur

What version of the software are you running?Earlier versions of 6.5 were...dodgy and a series of fixes to nbpem were relelased.

- drop your frequency (probably to less than 24 hours)

With it set at 7 days, it will not run again until 7 days have elapsed and a backup window is open.

***EDIT***
From the context sensitive help in the GUI:
"...
Use the Frequency attribute to specify how much time must elapse between the successful completion of a scheduled task and the next attempt.
For example, assume that a schedule is set up for a full backup with a frequency of one week. If NetBackup successfully completes a full backup for all clients on Monday, it does not attempt another backup for this schedule until the following Monday.

Hi Andy,

Ok will try that, but It's strange that I just copied this policy to an existing policy called "proxybackup" and this policy is working without a problem.

Thanks,

Arthur
