Backup to SAN

Hello,
I am looking for information on how to backup to a SAN.
My current configuration is I am running netbackup 6.0 on solaris with the master/media server on the same server, 10 sdlt tapes drives running in an L700 library.
I want my data to be backed up to my SAN instead of to tape and I am wondering what I need to do.
Is there any additional software I need to purchase to accomplish this?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Steve

Little confusion here...

Do you want to backup your data to SAN means on SAN attached storage, which is equivalent to Disk based backup or you want to backup your data through SAN, which means leveraging SAN infrastructure instead of LAN?

Maybe you want to backup or create a snap in the SAN itself and then have the NetBackup media server mount the snap or backup and back it up to tape?

thanks for the replies.

Yes I want to backup my data from different servers to the SAN.
You said that would be considered a disk backup?
Do I need any additional software?

You wouldnt need any additional software. You would just need to create a new Storage Unit with Storage Unit Type "Disk" and point that to your attached SAN storage location.
