This means that backup was not able to start because of insufficient resources.

Check job details to see why jobs were queued.

If these backups are configured with different retention levels or different pool names, or multiplexing is set to 1 in the schedules, these backups cannot be multiplexed with other client backups. It will then be queued while waiting for resources.
NBU will keep on adding jobs using same pool and retention levels to prevent multiple unloads of media for new jobs and will queue jobs that need different media.

Hi Maria,

Thanks for the explanation yes i can see multpile number of jobs scheduled run at the same time which might be the reason for the failure of the above client job waiting for resources.

Thanks,

Nayab

@nayabsk, You also need to check the following which impact the backup window and lead to error 196: - the number of Limited jobs in policy attribute - the number of i/o Stream define on your STU - the number of multiplex in tour schedule - Custom activity monitor by adding the 'active start' Field which give You the exact time the job was launched - if You use appliances (5220) as media server ask Symantec for tuning parameter This Is True fir client with large file (sql, oracle) or client with a lot of data/files (fileserver) ;-)

If possible, reschedule thats clients. Try change the priority if you don't have window for rescheduling.
