Bare Metal Restore Hangs with Fusion-IO Cards

Jacko
Not applicable

Running Netbackup BMR Version 6.5.6 on Red Hat

When trying to run backups on servers that have Fusion-IO cards installed, BMR reports "Failed to import Config File"

We can remove the Fusion-IO cards, or simply stopping the fusion-IO driver, and then the BMR runs as expected.

BMR today during backup does not understand fusion IO drive connectivity and hence fails while importing that client configuration.

You can stop the driver during BMR backup as you are doing currently; but this will not be worth doing everytime during backup.

There is an engineering binary had been published which helps user to ignore mentioned disks to be considered in BMR client backup. This would help you in this case as well.

You may want to raise a SERVICE TICKET with Symantec on this requirement.

Thanks.
