Netbackup was working beautifully, but of the blue (I swear!) it started giving us some awful errors. We were trying to unfreeze some tapes and the bpmedia -unfreeze command appeared to hang. Based on the errors below we checked that the library/drives were functional and could communicate with the Solaris server at an OS level. Any ideas?
# ./nbemmcmd -getemmserver NBEMMCMD, Version:6.0MP5(20060530) Library Initialization failed. access denied (188) Command did not complete successfully.
# ./nbemmcmd -listhosts NBEMMCMD, Version:6.0MP5(20060530) Library Initialization failed. CORBA communication error (195) Command did not complete successfully.
# ./tpconfig -d EMM interface initialization failed, status = 77
# tpconfig -l EMM interface initialization failed, status = 78
Notes: 1. this is not a cluster 2. bpps -x is showing that pbx_exchange is running (as are the other mandatory daemons) 3. running Netbackup 6.0 MP5 on Solaris 9 4. tried restarting the Netbackup daemons, including vxpbx_exchanged stop/start
