Yes.

Just configure another library the same way you did the first.

Zone in, make sure OS can see it, run wizard ...

Connect the library (and drives) by configuring the SAN.

There is no problem NetBackup wise with doing that - it will happily control two seperate tape libraries and their drives.

But it depends on the pwoer and setup of your server if it can cope effectively with writing to all the drives at the same time

Just connect / zone them, make sure drivers are loaded and O/S sees everything and run the device configuration wizard

Hope this helps

Just one thing ... if you plan to share tapes between the two libraries make sure you bar code settings on the library and your media id generation rules for each library are setup the same as the tapes will need to be seen identically via both tape libraries

@ Mark_Solution : No update. To configure this wil take few days. I will definately share the result on this...

One more question. Do I need any additional license for adding the Tape Library ?

You need a tape drive license per tape drive used so it depends on how many drive licenses you have currently and how many drives in total you will have when the work is completed.

If you zone a fibre attached tape library to more than one media server so that they can share the tape drives you will also need a Shared Storage Option license per shared tape drive

Hope this helps

Can I see how many licence's I have right now for drives ?

Only if you have your certificates or everything registered in the licensing portal.

If not ask you Symantec Reseller (via e-mail) to get an Install Base Report (IBR) from Symantec which will tell you exactly what you own and which of those are still in maintenance

You said you have 2 taoe libraries - one with 6 drives and one with 2 drives - so you need 8 tape drive licences

You need to see how many are on your IBR report
