Hi,

I have upgraded NB6.0 MP4 to NB6.0 MP7 . All Backup are running fine.

Now offline catalog is not running.

Which is configured as run catalog after every scheduled or manual backup.

Is there a error message or it doesn't start running on Activity Monitor?

Have you got Media on NetBackup Volume Pool?

Why you don't use hot catalog backup? It's so much better, not only the backup process, the restore process is even better.

Thanks Raphael ,

There is no error , it doesn't start running on Activity Monitor.
Even i checked offline catalog folder its not updating. i.e its not running at all.

I tried manually with bpbackupdb.exe , its running manually.
It start after i upgrade MP4 to MP7.

Sorry, just a few questions more:

It's only about cold catalog backup or other policies are not working?

There is no other any job or catalog operation (like import, catalog search) running?

Have you checked at 'Actions > Configure Offline NetBackup Catalog Backup' if it is properly configured and scheduled?

Try this:

Enable debug logs on NetBackup and create install_path\netbackup\logs\admin directory *;

Stop/Start Master Server using bpdown/bpup;

Run bpbackupdb from command line with parameter you like (except -p and -s that are used for launching hot catalog backups) and add the parameter -v (means verbose) to the command;

when running, it should get output about the process on command line (cause of the -v parameter) and create a log under ...\admin *

Review the data and if you want print them here, will help us to help you.

* = I'm not sure if on Windows systems is ...\admin or ...\administrator or even ...\{your_user_name}. So, if you wanna be sure that will work for the first time, create all of them, I would do that.
