Change Media ID drive standalone Netbackup 7.5 With out deleting the data in Tape

We are using standalone Tape drive and backup are already taken in tape where in Media ID for those tapes are auto generated as A00000 to A00006. But now we need to change the Media ID as per new requirement wiht out deleting the backup inside the tape.

We tried changing the Label in GUI mode, We got a error Pop up as " The operation is not supported when the assigned Media ID is selected"

Please suggest any solution where we can change the Media ID of the Tape with out deleting the data

Simply not possible.

You can only relabel media when all images have expired.

Relabelling a tape is the same as a quick erase. You won't be able to restore if it was possible.

Start to pre-label unassigned media.

The reason iit cannot be done, is that the media ID is actually written to the beginning of the tape.  Tapes are sequential, there is no way to 'overwrite' the beginning of the tape, you can only append, of overwite the complete tape.
