Disable purging of expired images

Does anyone remember the setting in bp.conf to disable netbackup from deleting expired images everynight? Thanks much.

maybe you are looking for a touch file like:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/NOexpire

Hi Alan,

Why would you want such a thing? If the backups are taken with a wrong retention level, then run bpexpdate -recalculate since the touch file NOexpire will prevent the image expiration but it will still expire the media which will create inconsistencies in netbackup database.

We decommissioned a master and don't want the images to expire yet; while we can stop the nbu services but we need to perform searches.

 If netbackup services are not running, the images will not be expired anyways.. NOexpire should be a good option in your case as suggested by Stumpr
