Exchange 2013 GRT restores the Exchange Credentials require to be configured in the NetBackup Client Host Properties

Hello everyone,

I need to know if the following configuration is supported

Master (solaris 9.6.0.3) + Media (Red Hat 9.6.0.3) + Client (Windows 2012 64bit cu 6 + Exchange 2013 + netbackup client 9.6.0.3).

When I make a GRT restore, the master show me the next error:

(3230099.001) ERR - Exchange 2013 GRT restores the Exchange Credentials require to be configured in the NetBackup Client Host Properties.

Thank you for yours support!

Do you mean 7.6.0.3 instead of 9.6.0.3?  Yes, it should be supported.

It sounds like you're missing some credentials.  Here are some instructions I've stolen from a not yet published TechNote:

In the NetBackup Administration Console, expand NetBackup Management > Host Properties.

Select Clients

View the Properties of Exchange Server (All Mailbox Servers and CAS Server)

Expand Windows Client, Click on Exchange

Under Exchange Credentials enter the User Name and Password of account that has rights for Exchange GRT Backups. This would be the same Credentials which the Netbackup Client Service uses on Mailbox Servers.

Hope this helps - good luck!

(We'll get that TechNote published right away)

EDIT: It's published:

Exchange 2013 Mailbox Restore fails with Error "ERR - Exchange 2013 GRT restores require the Exchange Credentials to be configured in the NetBackup Client Host Properties." Status code 103 and status code 2810 are also reported

Hi,

Sorry, that's true, 7.6.0.3, but:

Under Exchange Credentials enter the User Name and Password of account that has rights for Exchange GRT Backups

When I enter User name and password on master server netbackp console (Solaris) shows me this alert :

"Unable to Validate username and password (Error 1326)"

Where can I modify the exchange Credential ? on master server or on media server netbackup console?

Thanks you,

Best Regards,

Hi TDS,

It should work from any console, but are you able to try this on a Windows console (as opposed to the Java one)?
