Expected life of SDLT600 (SDLT 2)?

I've got about 55 media servers each with their own SCSI connected Quantum Superloader SDLT600 libraries, and a SCSI attached raid.  Each media server also runs an Oracle DB.  Each library has about 4 tapes in it at any given time.  Tapes are rotated once a month.  We have four sets of 4 tapes per library.

I'm Weekly Full backups of the Local File System, the local Raid, and the Oracle DB.

Daily Incremental backups of the Local File System, local raid, and the oracle DB.

Hourly Archive logs of the Oracle db.

So during the course of the month, the tapes in the jukebox will get a lot of writes.

My Question is, what is the life expectancy of tapes that are being written to heavily?  The tapes are about 2 years old (I'm not sure...I came in to the project after the tapes and jukeboxes were put in place).  We used these tapes on legato prior to netbackup.

I get a fair amount of 84 / 86 and frozen tape issues...so I'm wondering if some of those tapes are dead.

Anyone have any thoughts?
