Hi Eric,

If I correctly understand your question, then NetBackup will choose the server on which you have installed the NetBackup Media Server software and it has a robotic library physically connected to it.

Please elaborate your question if this is not the answer you are looking for..

NetBackup does not choose - you do when you design the configuration. Next, you physically connect everything, do zoning if applicable, make sure OS can see the devices, then run device config wizard. If more than one media server can see the robot, only select server that you want to be control host, run the wizard. Then run the wizard again and select the rest of media servers.

If you've zoned the robot it would probably do it randomly. If you want to be specific, use Marianne's suggestion or create the robot manually first on the server you'd like to use it, then run the device configuration.
