Intermittent cannot connect on socket Errors

Intermittment issue with Hot Backups. Running Netbackup 5.1 MP3 Rolled back from MP6 whaile trouble shooting issue. I have been recieving this issue since LAst week of Aug 2006 and the only way to get backup to work is to down DB instance an restart. Have Reviewed and applied a needed. 276854, 275115, and 274335. What are thoughts on this.

Robert,

Ask the DBA if the Database is stuck in "Backup Mode". They will know what I mean.

Just spoke w/ 1 of the DBAs. We are doing A hot backup and the database should not be in "Backup Mode" at the time of Hot backup. It is also doing some backup be for it fail as noted in the Output provided.

If the database is stuck in mid streamd during the backup you will get these kind of errors that you getting. If you try another backup of the database while its still in backup mode you get these kind of error.

Is the reagular backups of this server working correctly? Is it only the Oracle thats failing?

Only the oracle backup is having an issue. I just got off a group call on this and looks like we might change the TcpWaitDelay registry entry and up Logging to see if we get better output to trouble shoot with Symantec Support if we have no luck via forums and our knowledge base.

I'll still have them check database mode.
