I have couple disk storage units and I have temp staging policy in place, so every day during day images are being duplicated to tape. This policy starts and 10am and creates duplication jobs, half of them goes to queue because I have just 4 tape drives.. :) Once in a while I notice that some duplication jobs are being left in queue even after temp staging policy finishes.. usually duplication jobs are waiting for resource (drive) and after drive becomes available, jobs becomes active and finishes after it completes.. But, some duplication jobs kind of receive resource but still sits in queue, and I don't know why, here is example what I see in job log:
4/25/2007 10:01:17 AM - begin Duplicate
4/25/2007 10:01:18 AM - requesting resource robot 1
4/25/2007 10:01:20 AM - awaiting resource robot 1 - will retry physical later
4/25/2007 12:45:14 PM - granted resource 000001
4/25/2007 12:45:14 PM - granted resource tapedrive 1
4/25/2007 12:45:14 PM - granted resource robot 1
I don't understand why nothing is happening after this.... job sits in a queue and I'll have to cancel it...
Why ideas?
