I have been trying to upgrade/reinstall the clinet from 5.1 to 6.5.6

its failing with error "error while loading shared libraries: libacl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

seems the error related to some OS files.

I have few client with same error all are linux only.

Linux XXXXXXXXXX 2.6.9-78.0.5.EL #1 Wed Sep 24 05:30:08 EDT 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

This is a known issue. Seems like your os is 64bit. Install 32 bit libacl.

eg:

  • RHEL 4(64 bit):
    up2date --install libacl-2.2.23-5.4.el4.i386 (as root)

  • RHEL 5(64 bit):
    yum install libacl.i386 (as root)
