NDMP Backup Failures Status 40

NetBackup 8.1.1 not NetBackup 8.

Upgraded our Master Server, and Media Servers to other hardware.

Ever since, NDMP backups have failed intermittently with Status 40.

We have added EEB's as requested, and created touch files on Master, and Media servers.

The backups started okay, but for 1 full backup, and the following week began to exhibit the errors again.

Any ideas ?.

Status 40 is 'network connection broken'. 
You will need to do a bit of digging to find out where exactly the network issue is - is it between the NAS and the media server, or between the media server and master? 

Job details is the first place that will give you a clue and then media server bpbrm log (level 3 should be fine). 
nbjm log on the master could also be helpful (use vxlogview to view this log). 

Once you have this info, you can ask your network team and OS admin to monitor traffic between the 2 failing points. 
Check switch logs for errors, check OS system log for errors. 
Confirm that NIC firmware and drivers are up-to-date.
