NDMP backup fails with bpbrm db_FLISTsend failed: text exceeded allowed length (225)

Hi,

I have a filesystem which I backup via a NDMP host. This filesystem has been backing up quite happily for months however all of a suddden it is failing with the error when approx half way through the backup. All other filesystems in the policy work OK.

1326240903 1 2 16 sblxpnma01.ad.bgep.co.uk 0 0 0 *NULL* *NULL* Length of path is too long. Got 1128, but limit is 1038.

My thinking is that it is failing on a particular file/directory that is possibly too long in length.

Anyone know how I can find out which file/directory this maybe failing on using the logs.

Logging is at MAX on the master and media server but I can't find out anything in the logs.

NetBackup does not directly read data on file, so NetBackup can not trace exact progress of read operation. You should check path length via CIFS/NFS access.

You can try to increase bpbrm logging level on the media server. No guarantee (see Yasuhisa's post above).
