I have a problem with an ntbackup restore from a tape. The ntbackup contains exchange file storage.
logs:
Error category : Security Errors
Error : e0008488 - Access is denied.

The file is "Locked" i bet

youre trying to do a full restore correct?
A locked file is a file that is being used by another proccess.

when you do the restrore is the echange system is on. If i recall the sytems has to be on then verstais shuts the exchange off, does a restore and turns the exchange system back on.

Well..
the backup of my exchange server is like this....
Exhcange File Storage ----- NTBACKUP NTBACKUP - --- throught veritas ---- TAPE
In these case, the backup... is an ntbackup..... i have to threat like an ntbackup nop? why its necesary to have exchange down?

NTBackup and NetBackup are two completely different things. I think you might want to try asking this question on the BackupExec 10 board.
