Net backup client Service not restart at Windows 2003 server when server restart for maintenance or shutdown unexpectidely.Although service option choose automatically start.

I have seen this issue before. It's caused by the Win2k3's shutdown command. Try to avoid using the shutdown command. We created a startup script(NBU services) for the scheduled maintenace reboots.

The old reboot command has been usefull with our older servers.

I am not sure if that is supported in w2k3

In the activity monitor go to services and start client services.
