Netapp Restore

sr69
Level 4
I have a tape with a Netapp backup made with Netbackup 5.1 Windows (NDMP)

The netapp was removed from network and no NDMP license available in Netbackup.
I want to restore the info from the tape to an alternate path (windows box). But when I tried to set the Destiantion to D:\restore or \\server\restore I get the "Invalid Destination Path Name" Message.

Thanks in advance

In general, this isn't possible.  NDMP doesn't specify a data format.  So netbackup clients don't know how to read the datastream.

In the particular case of Netapp, they use a format that is pretty similar to a Solaris 'ufsdump'.  So you can probably use 'ufsrestore' to recover it with some work.
