Netbackup 7.5 Backup/Restore dif platform (UX/AIX) for Oracle RMAN

Hi guys!, just a quick question. Can I restore an RMAN bkp taken from an HP UX instance and restore it in an IBM Power 7 AIX ?. Is it possible? I need to make a mirror DB and the only available server I do have is this AIX.

Yes, its possible.

Some hint for successful cloning:

Oracle need to be on the same version on both source and destination.

Ensure the group id or user id is the same on source and destination - else you will need to restore with root privileges as Netbackup enforce file security permissions.

The process for re-directed restore/cloning is documeted in the Netbackup Administrator guide for Oracle
