Netbackup Cluster

Hi All,

I have a Netbackup with Master and Media server roles.

configured by connected to VTL and physical Tape library, can we perform Netbackup Cluster using Microsoft Clustering by adding new server and keep all the policies and backup images. if not what do you recommend to have Netbackup with two servers in cluster  mode.

New setup? Or existing setup as standalone server?
If later, unfortunately it is impossible. Clustered master server must be configured while initial setup. You can not convert standalone master server to clustered master server.

For new setup, just follow the steps described in Clustered Master Server Administrator's Guide.

While configuring tape devices, be sure to switch NetBackup Service and run Device Configuration Wizard on each node.

In addition to Yasuhisa's excellent post, you can contact a Symantec Consulting partner to convert non-clustered master to clustered.
