Netbackup Exclude List

Good day

I was wondering if I have the exclude directive correct, I want to do a global exclude of a common folder across all user folders on a specific drive on our file servers.

here is an example:

D:\user1\Current\Mail

D:\user1\Archive\Mail

D:\user2\Current\Mail

D:\user2\Archive\Mail

D:\user3\Current\Mail

D:\user3\Archive\Mail

I want to only back up the Current folder for all users from Monday to Friday, then on Saturday I want to back everything up, so should my exclude directive on the daily backup be:

D:\*\Archive\Mail

Is this correct? If not, please point me in the right direction?

NB version:Netbackup 6.5.3 Master / Media server

OS: Windows 2003

Hi,

Yes that will work fine. Just add it to each file server. You can choose to link this to a certain policy as well, so its doesn't do it for all policies, or vice versa

& further refinement by applying it to a specific schedule within a policy.

So if you have separate schedules within the policy for Mon-Fri and Sat then even better!
