Netbackup Sharepoint 7.0.1/7.1 Redirect Web App to a different farm

I am looking for the solution to restore the web application on a separate farm.

According to the administrator's guide for 7.0.1, Web app can only be restored to the same farm; on the administrator's guide for 7.1 (page 102 on http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC3675) I can restore a web app to another farm, however it mentioned that "The source Web application cannot be a live Web application".

So I don't get it... Say I want to restore our Prod web app to our test environment, in order to do this, I need to remove the Prod Web App?

That's true as heard by Support....

We need to haev existing Web App down so we can make redirected app live again.....(that's weird if we can't make both of them live)

I believe so but I don't know why.. :) seems to be something Netbackup has to improve on but I guess it's not as easy as we thought.

Anyway, it's best to test the Netbackup-Sharepoint backup/restore solution on a test environment before you deploy it on production.
