PBX install

In the last week I created 6 new media servers all running 6.0MP4.  These media servers are AIX 5.3.  The install of the PBX ICS software was smooth and the install of NB didn't have any problems.  Now I am working on migrating a current media server also with the same platform, AIX 5.3, from 5.1MP3 to 6.0MP4.  Starting down the same path, I tried to install the PBX ICS software but am getting an error during the install listed below.  Not sure what to make of this, anyone able to help me on this???   (Note: this is not in a cluster)

Comparing the bad ICS PBX install with a good install it looks like there is a problem when it comes to "ls /usr/bin/uname"

Bad install fails here:

I ran the commands manually and produced the desired results

command: ls /usr/bin/uname
return: /usr/bin/uname

command: /usr/bin/uname
return: AIX

command: /usr/bin/uname -r
return: 3

command: /usr/bin/uname -v
return: 5

hope this helps anyone job memory on what I might need to do to resolve this problem

What user does the install script run as? If you log in as this user can you run the ls command? It is possible that the script does not have ls in its default PATH statement. Try creating a local link to ls and run the script again. Or is you can edit the script, put the FQN of the ls command.

ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM (Something to keep in mind)

Here is the issue, and maybe some people already know this and have worked through it, but I didn't and I didn't find any information on this either.

The name of my media server is 570devnim, all my other media servers start with an letter, this is the only one with a numeric beginning character.  While researching the problem, I opened a case with Symantec.  There was another case like mine and it referenced the naming of the media server as the problem.  The PBX install does not like media servers to start with a number.  I aliases my media server (devnim) and used this during the install of the PBX software and it installed without any issues.  Getting ready to install 6.0MP4 and move on.

Hope this helps anyone else that may have media servers starting with a numeric character instead of an alpha character.
