Hi,
i have 4 Tapedrives in my robot running netbackup 7.1
I have a couple of policys running fullbackup with mulitplexing set to 4. Say i have 2 media located in my Pool1 and 2media from scratchpool.
When netbackup ques jobs say around 15 of them, it uses 8 of them to write to each media in my pool1 (4per tapedrive). But then it fetches new media from scratchpool to use in my other drives.
How do i force the policy to wait and use my already existing media in pool1 until they get full, and then get new media if it needs too.?

Use the "Maximum number of partially full media" attribute on volume pools to force NBU to 'wait'.
See "Volume pool properties" in :

Hi,
You want your policy to use a maximum of 2 tapes at a time, with a mpx of 4 ... so that's 8 jobs at a time for your policy.
That's in the Policy attributes that you got a default of unlimited simultaneous jobs per policy : limit jobs per policy is unchecked ... set it to 8 !
Note that the mpx does not count the parent jobs ... only the data streams jobs.
