In netbackup, clients will not reflected automatically in NBU console, one installation completed as in Symantec Backupexec. So its quiet difficult for new administrator to find out which are valid clients with agent installed.

Hi.
Clients only appear in the GUI (host properties > clients) once they've been placed in a policy.

All the client we include in policy will appear in host properties-> clients irrespective of 'agent s/w installed or not'. In this case, how the administrator can list the clients which are installed with 'agent s/w' if he is newly joined to organization.

Hi,
Well if you have a list of clients you can run bpgetconfig -M "client name" from the master. The command will try to connect to the client you specified and check its configuration. It will return the client name, version info, etc, etc.
If it fails to report anything then the client processes are either not running, or it has nothing installed, or there is network communications issues. Either way, you can then investigate these clients further.

Query1: Above command will list the config details of the given client. Is there any command that list all the valid clients where agents are installed.
Query2: Installing the agent will update any config files in master/media server. If that is the case, it will be listed there.
Query3: Can we do a restore/backup process to/from the client even agent is not installed.
