Raw Restoration Getting Failed

Hi All , 

The Raw Partition Restoration Getting Failed with Restore error(2850).

Restore gettign failed at the end. Trying to restore on alternate client.

master serevr :- Windows 2008 

Media Server :- AIX 

Client :- AIX 

NBU Version on All :- 7.5.0.5

Restoration has been completed from the Netackup side , but i am unable to mount the file system.

How exactly was raw partition backed up? FlashBackup policy or normal Standard policy type?

If Standard, have you read in Admin Guide about backup and restore requirements as far as raw partition backups are concerned?

Hi Marianne ,

Backup was configured with RAW path with Standard Backup policy.

After completion of backup i start the restore on umounted filesystem on another server.

Restore also got complted but while mouting the filesystem it give an below error.

Unformatted or incompatible media
The superblock on /dev/restorelv is dirty.  Run a full fsck to fix.

The Admin Guide states that all I/O on a filesystem should be stopped before raw backup is taken. If mounted filesystem, it should be unmounted. (More info in Admin Guide I.)

Have you done that?

Have you checked that the same amount of disk blocks are available on the destination disk? Not just same size, as raw backup is done at block level.
A disk with same size but different geometry could have less blocks.

Have you tried to run fsck as per the error message that you received?
