Solaris tar backup to NetBackup image

Hello All,

I have a bunch of tapes which were used by native Solaris OS to do a backup. All the data is in tar format.

I need these tapes and data to be made valid in NetBackup. Is there are way to do it?

You will need to restore the tar tapes somewhere and back it up with NBU.

Marianne is 100% correct.

NetBackup format is actually tar, unfotrtunately, it is /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/tar - so slightly different.

Additionally, your tapes are missing all the NetBackup Volume and Backup headers making then unreadable via NetBackup.
