Solution on decresing the backup time for the datastore policy backup.

Hi,
I want to know how to decrese the backup time for a datastore policy. It is taking almost 20 hours now, we want decrese this. This client supports only datastore policy. And also i want know how can we run multiple streams for a datastore policy. Someone please help on this. Netbackup version is 5.1 and the platform is Linux 2.6.9-42.0.10.ELsmp. Also this backup is USER initiated backup. Thanks..

What is the transport (LAN/SAN) are you using, what is the size of your backup and what is the type of database or flat files you are backing up?

For example, if you trying to backup 4TB of data through 1Gbit network with a performance of 200Gb/hr, 20hrs of backup time is normal.

Second question - do you have any special reasons to keep outdated and unsupported NBU 5.1? Most part of our customers have observed substantial performance increase just because of upgrade to 6.5
