running a backup of Information Store and Directory for 3 exchange servers, will fail with a status 13

A client initiated backup managed to get further almost completing one of the servers, but that then also fail with the same status. A MS-Windows-NT type policy runs OK......
Servers in question are HP DL380 G5's, all have nic teaming setup but negotiation set manually (1Gb full)
any suggestions....?
