Hi,
I read from the "Software Compatibility List (SCL) for Veritas Storage Foundation™& High Availability Solutions 6.0 for Windows®, Veritas Cluster Server 6.0 for Windows®" that Veritas NetBackup (NBU) 7.1 does not yet support Bare Metal Restore (BMR) on hosts running SFW/SFW HA 6.0.
May I know when is the expected timeline that SFW/SFW HA 6.0 will support NBU 7.1 on BMR?
Thanks.

BMR support for SFW 6.0 is there on our roadmap but not yet targetted for a release. You may want to approach NetBackup product management team on this requirement.
Thanks.

This seems very odd as SFW 6.0 is already 3 months old!

Hi ctyeo,
SFW made some changes from the 5.x to 6.0 versions of the software that prevent BMR from working correctly. The NBU development team is making changes to BMR to work with the SFW 6.0 changes. Support should be added in the next release of NBU after the 7.5 version. I'm not sure if a patch will be created to add support to NBU for the 7.5 and earlier versions.
Thank you,
Wally

Any idea when is the next release of NBU after the 7.5 version?

Work with your local reseller or Symantec office to contact NetBackup Product Management.
