Tool to check Potential Front End Capacity?

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a tool which will be able to check our current backup data, which is located on Basic Storage and Tape to see how much Front End TB capacity would be needed for an upgrade to Front End TB licensing for NBU 7. We are running a NBU 6.5.5 on Solaris 10, including 22TB of Basic Disk storage units.

Does anyone know of one?

Our Symantec sales team are trying to get signoff of a script called ./nbfrontendcapacity but i'm wondering if there is an easier or quicker way to do this.

Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks

Trevor

Your Symantec sales team should be working with the NBU SE Specialists to get this.  No need to load up VBR just to get this number.

VBR should be helpful.

If you don't have that in place, the Symantec sales rep should be able to give you a temporary/evaluation license key for you to install VBR or OpsCenter so you can get proper report on the front end backup capacity.

Thanks people.

@CY I do have VBR, and does it help? questionably yes....the report only works if you already have puredisk installed

@adpwl1 thanks for this, I am still waiting from the technical sales contact I have for a copy of the file.

@Mouse after careful deliberation and thoughtful thinking, I have decided to log a call, sorry @adpwl1 although this could be the solution, I believe Mouse has hit the nail on the head.

Thanks again

Trevor

Sorry Mouse...

it would seem that when I logged a call they pointed me to my NBU SE. So adpwl1 should get the solution mark.
