Hello,

I'm trying to install the 6.0MP5 on a Linux client but it fails like below. I have tryed on a Solaris too, with the same issue.
"musca:/tmp/NB_CLT_60_5_M_290398 # /bin/sh Vrts_pack.install

There is 1 pack available in /tmp/NB_CLT_60_5_M_290398:
(* denotes installed pack)

        NB_CLT_60_5_M

Enter pack name (or q) [q]: NB_CLT_60_5_M

Pack NB_CLT_60_5_M co-requires the following pack level(s) :
         NB_JAV_60_5_M.

ERROR: Corequired pack is not available in /tmp/NB_CLT_60_5_M_290398:
        NB_JAV_60_5_M.
Download and extract the corequired pack and try again.

Cannot install NB_CLT_60_5_M.
Exiting Vrts_pack.install

"

Any help, please?

TIA,
Vinicius.

Did you follow the directions above?

Yes, I followed the tip, but:
"
musca:/tmp/NB_JAV_60_5_M_290354 # /bin/sh Vrts_pack.install

There is 1 pack available in /tmp/NB_JAV_60_5_M_290354:
(* denotes installed pack)

        NB_JAV_60_5_M

Enter pack name (or q) [q]: NB_JAV_60_5_M

Pack NB_JAV_60_5_M requires pack NB_CLT_60_5_M or a later.

Pack NB_JAV_60_5_M requires the following pack levels(s) :
         NB_CLT_60_5_M.

Pack NB_JAV_60_5_M will not be installed at this time.

ERROR: Cannot find required pack NB_CLT_60_5_M.
Exiting Vrts_pack.install

"

Any ideas, please?

TIA,
Vinicius.

just keep both of the packages/patches under same directory and run the install.

Alternatively you can push the patch from your master server. Use update_clients command.

I ussually install the Master (M) patch first, on the master then do the Client or (CLT) on second then the Java (JAV) one.

All are installed on the master server then pushed to the clients.

UNIX master can only push to UNIX clients.

Hi,

I did copy the NB_JAV_60_5_M files to the same directory as the NB_CLT_60_5_M files, so I did run the install.

It worked fine!

Thanks to all,
Vinicius.

Hi,

The master is a NetBackup Enterprise Server for Windows on a Windows Server 2003 SP1.

Vinicius.

yes,
That is what this message was trying to tell you:

ERROR: Corequired pack is not available in /tmp/NB_CLT_60_5_M_290398:
        NB_JAV_60_5_M.

It probably would have been better for symantec to have printed it out a little bit different by including the /tmp on the second file like this:
ERROR: Corequired pack is not available in /tmp/NB_CLT_60_5_M_290398:
   /tmp/NB_JAV_60_5_M.
