VMware File Backups with DFSR

Hi

We have a VMware virtual machine as a file server which uses DFSR and have been traditionally backing this up as a netbackup client and stopping the DFS replication service. I know I can follow the information in the following technote to complete this backup using Shadow Copy Components https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO65638

But I wanted to ask if I can simply use a VMware type backup policy to take a vcentre snapshot and not need to worry about the DFSR piece at all?

many thanks in advance

Seems someone else has tested it successfully 3 years ago with VMware policy type:

Please test this and let us know.
