Hi,

I have some problems with our futur server (W2012R2 // NB7.7 // ALL NB roles).

Our goal is to save everything (windows, linux, ndmp, vmware client) on a local puredisk storage unit (we have licence for all of this).

My first question is... is-it possible ? One storage unit for multiple policy type ? Save ndmp host on local disk ? etc...

I try to do it, i save windows client easily, but when i try ndmp or vmare, i have errors.

Thank for your answer and advice !

I can only assume this is with PureDisk as a storage unit *with* NetBackup?

If so, I would suggest posting some job details into the NetBackup forum. (Or maybe an admin will move it for us.)

Extreamly interested in your job details to determine whether or not you are having an NDMP issue instead of a storage issue.

I reinstall evrything in 7.7.1 and my backup (NDMP) work fine, strange....

I still have a problem to save my virtual infrastructure (esxi 5.5.0 // vcenter 5.5.0) : error opening the snapshot disks using given transport mode: san:hotadd:nbd:nbdssl status 23

So, this is no longer a PureDisk or NDMP issue - just NBU with VMware, right?

Can you confirm that you have followed configuration steps as per NetBackup for VMware Administrator's Guide ?

Have you confirmed that VMware credentials are sufficient?
Have a look at these TNs:

What are the minimum permissions needed to properly backup and restore using vStorage api?
http://www.veritas.com/docs/000007351

What are the permissions required for the user configured in NetBackup to logon to vSphere cloud to perform vStorage API based backups and restores?

The next thing to look at is port connectivity between the backup host (master?) and VCenter and ESX host(s).
Ensure
ports 443 and 902 are open.
- Port 443 to access the vCenter server
- Port 902 between backup server and the ESX/ESXi hosts.

Have a look at this blog:
