Cause

Policy type set to Standard instead of MS-Windows

Solution

Ensure the policy type for the backup is set to MS-Windows and not Standard.

then run this command

nbpemreq update_policies

Very first check Client version, Client netbackup upgrade would fix these issue.

you can exclude .edb file in your client backup these are exchane database files which would not backed up in OS backup.

i see most of the files which not backing is .log files, you can check with file owner that backup required of these files or not, and can exclude these files backup.

Hi Marianne;

What files are not critical to system recovery ? I opened a case with Symantec support in 2 weeks ago , they asked me to run nbsu on master, media server & client.  But they cannot give me a solution to fix the issue. Thank you.

Only the server owner of that particular server can tell you that.
Not Symantec Support.

Any file that will be recreated by a reinstall of OS and/or application can be seen as non-critical.
