Hi
Now that 6.5 has moved to hot backups, is there a similar command that can be used to verify what's exactly been backed up and the last backup like the old bpsyncinfo command?

Old command output looked like this...

# bpsyncinfo

Frequency of DB Backup:  never - must be manually initiated

  Server: <server>
  Sequence # 1    Last Media Used: <media id>

    Written             Allocated           Type   Density  Media
    ------------------- ------------------- ----   -------  -----
  1 03/18/2008 22:47:06 06/05/2007 11:54:47 RMedia hcart3   <medid id>
  2 03/19/2008 03:58:16 10/12/2007 11:15:17 RMedia hcart3   <media id>

  Paths Included:
<server>:/opt/VRTSnbu/netbackup/db
<server>:/opt/VRTSnbu/volmgr/database
<server>:/usr/openv/var

Really looking to find all the directory listings as defined in the troubleshooting guide on page 550 plus the databases.

ie:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf
/usr/openv/netbackup/db/*
/usr/openv/netbackup/vault/sessions*
/usr/openv/var/*
/usr/openv/volmgr/database/*
/usr/openv/volmgr/vm.conf

NBDB.db
NBDB.log
EMM_DATA.db
EMM_INDEX.db
BMRDB.db
BMRDB.log
BMR_DATA.db
BMR_INDEX.db
vxdbms.conf

install_path\NetBackupDB\conf\server.conf (Windows only)
install_path\NETBACKUP\DB\conf\databases.conf (Windows only)

Unfortunately taking  the manuals word for it isn't enough and i need to veryify this information without physically doing the restore.

Thanks in advance...

Hi have check on the release notes doc (http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/290196.htm) and havent find this command has not longer supported, maybe Im wrong, but I think it will not be supported on the next mayor release, but is still under this 6.5

NetBackup commands no longer supported

The commands that are listed in this section are no longer supported with this

release of NetBackup.

The functionality to index image .f files has been removed from the

NetBackup 6.5 release; therefore the index_clients command is no

longer supported.

The bpstuadd command line option -dspath is no longer supported.

The add_media_server command is no longer supported in NetBackup.

Symantec dropped support and removed the following commands from

NetBackup. These commands are: bpauthorize, bpauthsync, vopied,

bpSALinfo, and vopie_util.

Symantec has dropped support and removed the following commands from

the NetBackup product: mmcrawl and vminitlists.

Just like you'd do it for any other backup now.  Examine the catalog.

The hot backups contain two backup images.  One is a Sybase hot DB backup.  There's not much that you're going to get from that.  But the other image is just the regular files.  So finding the image (usually with bpimagelist) and then examining that image with bplist or bpflist will show them to you.
