different version between client and server

Hi all,

Can we use netbackup version 7.0 for client while server version is 6.5.5?

I have a problem with NBU. My client can not connect to master with client ver 6.5.5 (I Install client software with the ssh method). And then, I upgrade client to version 7.0, It still has the same error code 23

No... You cannot use 7.x client with 6.x server.

PLEASE upgrade your Master to 7.1 or 7.5. NBU 6.x has reached EOSL in Oct 2012.

Technically 7.x client will work with 6.x Master / media server however this configuration is not supported Symantec. If you face any issues you are on your own.
