erase data on tape when a backup expires

Hi,
In order to backup our database Oracle 10g (Solaris), we're using:
-veritas netbackup 6.0Mp4;
-oracle agent;
-tape library SL500;

Due to some security policies, we need to erase data on tape, when a backup expires, so that noone can get it back.

How can we do that?

BR
Antonio

1. smash and melt tape

2. use 3rd party software that repeatedly writes all 1's then writes over that with all 0's then writes over that with 1's and 0's and then writ over that with "quick brown fox" and then writes over that with random 1's and 0's
