Hello Experts,

I want to extend the backup retention of 3 files of unix client and not the entire filsystem to 6 months.

Please let me how can we do this using bpexpdate or do we have any other preferred way of doing this.

Regards,

Bharath

hi Bharath,

Netbackup can only extend the retenction for the backup images..

but not for the sepcific files...

you only have 3 options

1) extend the retenction for entire image

2) tape the backup of specific files that you want to extend with desired retenction.( if those files are still avaliable)

3)restore the required specific files into temp location, and take the backup again with desired retenction(if original files are not avaliable)

check which one will suite for your requirement.

Only full image can be extended or expired - not individual files or folders within an image,

 bpexpdate -backupid <backup-id> -d <new-expiration-date>
