how to find media id from a backuped filename ?

hi all:
    I was backup some file from my file server a long times ago.now,my tape library slots full,so i want check out some media volume,and keep some other in the tape library,but i don't know how to find that volume.

    For example ,i backup a file ,it's name /home/abc.txt,i forget when i was backuped it.how to find which volume contains this file?

You need to know more or less when this backup was taken.

You can use the BAR GUI to select the client name, policy type and date range.

Browse the folders in the backup results until you find the file name. 
Use the 'Preview Media' button to see the media id.

From cmd, you can use this command:

bpimagelist -client <client-name> -d <start-date> -e <end-date> -media -U

You can add more parameters to narrow it down, such as:
-pt <policy_type>
-policy <policy_name>

Format for start and end-date is mm/dd/yyyy

The way that NBU indexes images is firstly by Client name, then by date.

So, you really need a client name and some sort of time frame. Monthly or Weekly Full backups are normally good candidates.
Use the GUI to browse.
Once you have found the file you are looking for, have a look at the date that the backup was taken. 
Then use the bpimagelist command above with start and end date as the same date of the backup.

If the file is on a large fileserver and the backup spanned a couple of tapes, you will receive a list of all tapes that were used for that particular backup.
You will need to put all tapes in the robot.
Only when NBU needs to skip to the specific image fragment will you see the actual tape number containing that file, and NBU will request the tape mount.
