info about VxMS

Hi all,

I hope to post in the right place, I use VxMS log to troubleshooting some hyper-v jobs error and I would like to know someting more about the VxMS.

I looked for documentation but I cant find nothing, only very old Symantec site that I cant open it.

Please can you explain me what is or suggest me where I can find some documentations.

You did not mention your NBU version?

There are manuals for each NBU version.

NBU 7.7 : NetBackup 7.7.1 for Hyper-V Administrator's Guide

NBU 8.0 : NetBackup for Hyper-V Administrator's Guide

I already read these documentation, and I understand how enable the logs, but I would like learn what is VxMS ? what is the "Veritas Federated Mapping Service" ??

Sorry, now I understood your question...So I didn't found anything more than this definition:

Veritas Federated Mapping Service

"A library of routines (methods) used by NetBackup Snapshot Client to obtain the physical
addresses of logical disk objects such as files and volumes"

I'm not sure, but I think that there is no document/TN about Veritas Federated Mapping Service with an detailed explanation about VxMS, only this above.

I hope that I'm wrong and someone can answer your question.
