recover files from vault policy

Hi to all,

i need to recover files from a tape that has been offsite and i still did not put the tape back to the robot. The question is, the data was put to the tape 10 months ago, and it had a retention period of 2 months, but because the tape was offsite and hasnt been putted back on the robot i assume that the data is still there, right? the policy does not exist anymore because policies where reformulated. is there any procedure that i can do to put back the tape and access and restore the data?

It is called "importing" tapes.

 

I would put the tape back into the library (make sure you write-protect it) and then start an import.

 

Under the 'catalog' menu there is an option to do imports.
