restoring from each tape

We have a backup that is spanned over three DLT's. For testing purposes, I would like to make sure that I do a restore from each of the three tapes. How do I know what files are on what tape?

I'm not sure if there is a way to know exactly what "files" are on each specific media beside initiating a restore then seeing what media it asks for, but you could run a media contents report to atleast get the backup ID which should contain the client name as part of the ID.

Run a verbose verify on the tape to ensure that what is in the catalog is actually on the tape. Then select a file from the list and issue a restore.

It is hard to say because of the variables involved. It does not take as long as an import. But it could take up to an hour or two.
